Looking for suggestions on routes in 'greater central Idaho' for a couple of seasoned backpackers seeking another trip of a liftime. Looking for something that'll keep us occupied for 1-2 weeks. Strenuous is OK as is some amount of bush-wacking. What's the BEST one?????

Hi J,
This isn't one I've done, but have been thinking about for awhile.
The Idaho Centennial Trail (wilderness route) runs through Frank Chruch and Selway-Bitterroot, crossing one road. Brian Frankle describes hiking the entire ICT (southbound from Canadian border) here:

I was asking similar questions a few years ago, and Dave Chenault (+ others) had some good info. That thread is here:
I'll be watching your thread to see what other suggestions come up–looking for some hikes in this area myself. And maybe in a year or two I'll put together the time to hike that section of the ICT.
David-
Thanks much for the links, I'll be scouring them soon. I think I know the road the ICT has to cross (Darby – Elk City Rd; traveled it many years ago when I could actually burn some time and get away with it). The link sounds perfect!
