Ok, so, I've read that awls are these super useful tools.
Being new to this, I can't really imagine what they'd be useful for.
But, if they ARE useful for anything, I am confident you folks can enlighten me! :-)
Can I get by without having one? I know lots of people carry a small knife and a Micra – which has no awl. So what's the verdict?
Aug 25, 2007 at 1:35 pm #1399954I can't see why it would be useful enough to carry. If you really needed one, you could just take your knife and carve an awl ot of a stick.

I probably use it most out of the leatherman squirt i got for X mas a couple years back.
makes miracles of untying knots, and for peirceing thru something. If you needed it would be good for a rough sew job
