I'm going to Seattle the last week of July to a friends party. I'm flying into Seattle and will have three days, two nights that I set aside for some solo backpacking. I'll have a rental car, I have been to Olympic N.P. backpacking and have driven around the state a few times. I have never been to Rainier or North Cascades. Any ideas of some backpacking trips or perhaps some car camping with fly fishing opportunities, photography, big mountains, glaciers, vistas. I'm up to anything 15 miles per day, elevation not a problem. Looking for an overnight or possibly two. I appreciate your time.

If you want to get a taste of the Wonderland, you can hike a small loop of it starting at Mowich, hike through Seattle/Spray Park, hike down through Isput and back to Mowich.

You might check out Hannigan Pass and the Copper Ridge loop for awesome views of the North Cascades. It would make a good two nighter. The REI book section will have guide books with all the particulars. Once over Hannigan Pass, you could also drop down to the Chilliwack River if its fish you're after.
