Several years ago when hiking through the Bob I had hoped to hike down from the top of Switchback Pass down to the North Wall (trail 732/116 to 174 along Lake Levale) and on down to Sock Lake. When I got to the top of Switchback Pass, pretty exhausted from hiking through the “Hall of Gods” and in a rush, I took one look at the descent and decided to head down the other side to Pentagon Creek. It just looked too treacherous. I’m considering trying it again and I’m wondering if anyone here has made the descent and could tell me if it’s as hairy as it looks.
