So for Father's day weekend I called the shots and requested a day hike. This will also get my kids ready for the big season coming up. Since they both have new packs, it will be a busy couple months.

We did Bear Peak in Boulder, starting from the North Shanahan trailhead . It was only 2.75 miles each way but we gained 2600 feet topping out at 8,461. It was pretty steep most of the way.

What a couple of cuties, Gordon! You did the grunt training route alright. Someday when they grow up and attend CU, they'll find out that the mountain is far more easily climbed from the west side. Then you won't get any more Fathers Day presents. But it looks like you enjoyed a fine day of great weather, with excellent companions. I think it's great that you are getting them into hiking early.
