Hi all,
Anyone know where I can rent camping gear in and around NYC? I need pretty much all the basic stuff for tenting over a long-weekend. Do any companies offer a complete package for someone with next to no equipment?

All I know is that both EMS and REI rent gear (Tent, mat, backpack, bag)
Yeah, I second REI. It is pretty cheap, too.
my local REI recently stopped renting gear. idk if that has happened elsewhere.
REI in the Tristate area no longer rents sleep gear (sleeping bag, pad) but does rent tents, packs, trekking poles. As well as snowshoes and XC ski gear when appropriate.
EMS UWS had sleeping bags last time I checked. EMS SoHo did not.
Tent & Trails also rents some gear.
You will want to make reservations for these things ASAP. I don't know about the others but REI in SoHo is often completely rented out on nice weekends.
Ok, I'll take a look. I could always pick up a small camp stove and a bit of dishware. The tenting stuff is the most important. Thank you!
