Hey all, decided on the Montbell Tachyon Anorak as a wind shirt. I'm 6'1, 185 pounds, athletic build, which size should I be looking at? I heard they can fit small so I'm thinking a large?

Take size the website says you need and get next larger size if you want to wear an ultralight puffy layer underneath. Just a guess though since I do not own one.

Thanks. That was my thought process too but I've read that these might run extra small so I'd love for an owner to confirm or deny that.

I'm 6'2", 200 lbs. I got an XL and it fits perfectly with a lightweight down puffy (Backcountry Hadron), but still isn't too baggy to wear with just a t-shirt.

Excellent thanks Wesley, seeing as though you've got 15lb on me do you think the large might be the way to go for me?

I have two of these (one Japanese, one U.S. model) and I think the Large will be fine on you.

Also, just in case you wondered about the ultra thin Ballistic Nylon fabric, I have also never managed to destroy these. Friend of mine crashed on his bike, opened his hands up – but not his Tachyon.

While we're here talking about sizing, could someone measure the sleeve length from shoulder seam to wrist cuff for a size M or L? This is where I always have an issue.

6'5" 205lbs here…XL fits great. I would go with a Large at your size.

Oh there's two models? Is either of them better than the other? Do both models fit the same? If not are there any tell tale signs on where they were made so I can make sure I get the right size for the right model?

Thanks for your responses guys!

the new ones do not run small at all, in fact, they run sort of big. they are also, lighter. a L weighs 2.1 oz.

They were both the same, save for the cuffs which I liked a bit better on the JP model.
But, the models changed now and I think the JP model has the same cuff now anyway, so don't think there is any difference any more.

I don't have the new version so better if someone that has the new one measures them.

Good to know thanks. Do you know if they fit the same?
