I was wondering if anyone has seen or tried one of these sleeping bags. They are supposed to be a great bag for side sleepers.

My brother bought a Nocturne 15 degree when they were still $399. They're around $300-$320 now I think. It's 700 fill duck down not the higher quality 800-900 goose down that the top of the line bags are using. His biggest complaint was that it has a cold spot in the chest area. He has a terrible case of buyer's remorse.

He likes my WM Alpinlite a lot better and it's lighter, packs smaller, and has been very good to me in much lower temps. I guess it's whether or not you are willing to shell out the big bucks for a premium bag?

I have one of the 30*F long bags. It weighs right at 2 pounds in the stuff sack, and is about the diameter of a paper plate.

I've not had it down to freezing yet, but I did use it on a night that was about 42*F or so, and I didn't notice a cold spot. It's a lot roomier than the MH mummy bag it replaced. I'm a restless side sleeper, and I didn't feel like I was in a straight jacket all night.

I don't think I'd pay $400 for it. I think I got mine from campsaver when they had one of their sales w/ a coupon and got it to my door for about $240 IIRC. I'm happy with it for that price.
