Two friends just asked me and right now all I have are remote and alcohol/esbit stoves and no direct experience with either of these. I know the Giga Power Manual GS-100 is known for low CO, durability (steel threading?) and dependability, and the Litemax is lighter weight, though I think it has aluminum threading. Here they are with manufacturer's specs.

How is the Litemax for CO and fuel efficiency? Is thread durability an issue if you are careful not to overtighten? Wind-resistance won't matter much as they'll always be used with a windscreen.

Thanks Phil, read the thread. What functional differences have you found? Do you find yourself taking care not to overtighten?

I'm inclined to point them to the Giga Power GS-100. Tried and true. The Litemax hasn't been out that long.

I suspect the aluminium thread on the Litemax will die a LOT faster than the brass thread. Imho, the GS(T)-100 has been a 'Gold Standard' for stoves for a long time. OK, it is a bit heavy now, compared to the latest Fire Maple ones.

I recollect we hashed this about recently. If the aluminum is hard-anodized (as it is on my MicroRocket) the HA brings the surface of the aluminum to near steel hardness. If the HA wears through, then, soft aluminum beneath. I'd expect the wear characteristics of brass to be even degradation thoughout its lifespan, and a HA aluminum to resist wear but to deteriorate quickly once the HA is breeched.

> My Litemax seems to know only 1 speed!
Try cleaning the needle valve and the jet. Disassembly needed.

Cheers
