KEPR shared the following on Facebook tonight:

"This powerful photo comes from Snohomish County. Firefighters there granted a wish to an elderly hospice patient. The former forest ranger wanted to see the outdoors one more time, so the firefighters wheeled him through the forest, where he could experience nature once again.

Aww man… I'm nearly welling up over here.

Such a simple thing to bring him peace near the end of his life. A true love of nature.

Beautiful image.

I had a bad scare in emergency a few weeks ago. I swear I was thinking that I'd prefer dying on the sidewalk under the stars on Sunset Blvd. instead of in the hospital room under fluorescent lights.

Well, if you were the one looking up at those lights, I'm glad you made it.
And if it was a buddy… hope all is well.

Take Care.

That's awesome!

I'd rather die doing something I love like backpacking or rock climbing than die in a hospital any day.

What they did for him is the next best thing. Just incredibly heartfelt.
