For many years I used the classic Leki Makalu poles. Then as part of slimming down my gear I went to the BD Ultra Distance carbon poles. The only issue I've had with the BD poles is that the wrist loops are not durable or very comfortable. The loops just don't have that 3D 'cradle' fit of the beefier models. I'd gladly tote the extra, what, 2.00094 ounces of better wrist loops.
Has anyone come up with a homegrown modification to improve the Ultra Distance wrist loops? I'd love to transplant a set of those comfy Leki loops onto the BDs but the BD attachment system is unique.
