Holy moly that's heavy, and i thought my Tipi tent was heavy at around 4 lbs..

But, i bet a good amount of that weight is in the steel center pole. Replace with carbon, hang from a loop, or use a long branch, and it would drop down probably by around half.

And what's 190t polyester nylon? Is it a poly-nylon blend?

Well, it would be a great tent for car camping with a bunch of people, or a Burning man orgy lol.

That would be good for Max : )

More headroom than Hildeberg. Cheaper.

I like the set up instructions :
•Easy setup… raise the center pole, stake out the sides and you are done

"raise the center pole, stake out the sides and you are done"

no

stake 4 corners, then raise center pole

would be more awkward to do in reverse order

I am inclined to think it is Chinese English. The idea of blending polyester with nylon is … strange. However, the Chinese do it – maybe to cut costs. Nylon is quite expensive.

The 190t means 190 threads per inch in the weave.

Jerry, what do you use to determine where to place stakes for a 1 person set-p

You would have to have a guide of sorts to determine those stake placements.

The place pole in center and then stake is for easy 2 person set-up.

"i want to live in a yurt."

Okay Jen, another poem for you…

I want to live in a yurt,
With an Ernie or Buster or Burt.
We'd snuggle in winter,
perhaps make some 'kinder'…..
on top of our floor made of dirt.

I want to live in a yurt,
One with a porch wouldn't hurt.
We'd shower outside,
We'd use the sun to dry,
Life would be grand in our yurt.

If the one person tent is rectangular, you just stake out corners. Make sure the sides are at right angles.

For my 5 sided solo mid, which is the only one in existance (although a Trailstar is sort of similar) I stake the two corners on the long side, pulling the fabric mostly tight. Then eyeballing the two adjacent corners. Then put in the pole and stake out the fifth corner. Then adjust the 3rd and 4th corners.

Since it's an odd shape rather than a square or rectangle, it's a bit trickier to get set up. Sometimes I have to pull out one of the 3rd or 4th stakes and re-place. But this all takes maybe one minute so not a big deal.

I was just thinking, it would be better to set first 2 corners, then put in pole and stake 5th corner, then do the other 2 corners. I'll try that next time.

One thing about a square or rectangular mid is, the 4 corners have to be on the same plane or the 4 ridges won't all be taut. With the 5 sided mid, you have more adjustability, sort of like a Trailstar.

What a palace! This forum has been getting dangerously heavy in mindset lately…

You guys need to lose some philosophical weight!

Its funny, they never mention to put the center pole under the canopy.

I envision a obelisk next to a staked-down pile of poly-nylon.
