Thanks to my wife who loves to knit, I have observed that my dryer has amassed a large quantity of balls.

"Dryer Balls", that is.

What's nice is they completely REPLACE the need for fabric softener for our laundry, which is lovely since a lot of outdoor clothing doesn't like the stuff anyway.

They are also pretty effective at breaking up the down in our sleeping bags. They have a density very similar to tennis balls, by the time they are ready to use.

While you can buy them, here's a link to how to make them: http://laundry.about.com/od/HomemadeLaundryProducts/a/How-To-Make-Homemade-Dryer-Balls.htm

(I guess this could also go under MYOG as well.)

Just passing it onto the PBL community I admire so much.

Dang, Matt, when I saw the title of this thread I got all excited as I thought you were about to offer a bomb-proof recipe for having drier balls…. and now I feel disappointed.
Must be my low reading comprehension in English…

If you want drier balls, then fortify self with some liquid courage of the whiskey type, don ye old Kilt and lose your undies, for an airy breathable Kilt, is for all men who wish for drier balls no matter how their parts are built. You will soon see the veracity of the hype.
