Golite Pinnacle Backing Modification

My Golite Pinnacle is great. It has a thin piece of foam as the backing.

I'm considering removing the foam and putting in a cute piece of my Thermarest Ridgerest. If it won't fit in that space, I'll just put it in the same area over that sleeve to act as support.

Is this a good/bad idea?
