Saw this on their Facebook page and thought I'd see what the early opinions are.

Maybe Tim will give some early estimates on specs etc…

Alternate names:

Double Barrel
Twinception
Dualism

And my personal favorite:

Hot to Trot

( ^ That's right a TRIPE ENTENDRE)

Also when I eventually become Enlightened Equipment's marketing guru the new slogan will be:

"Enlightened Equipment: Searching for a Higher (Fill) Power"

This is obviously going to be called the "duality"

"This is obviously going to be called the "duality""

No way, look at how they're facing. It's gonna be the Spooner.

This one is our Reg length and. 86 or. 88" wide. 30* weighs 28oz. Enigma style Footbox doesn't taper to give room and not force feet to the middle. After testing it needs to be 6" longer and I have a neat buckle system for the top closure. I just need to finish the length mod then draw the templates up. I'm shooting for having them online in July.

I know its not a light as others but it will seal way better at the top and have a much less restrictive footbox.

Tim,
This looks pretty great. I don't suppose you are making a version that will split down the middle and can serve as individual quilts as well are you?

I like how wide you've made the foot box, by the way. Most of the other two person quilts on the market seem to have such narrow foot boxes that you'd be forced to lay at an angle to get your feet in there… Not exactly ideal.

Also, any idea how much a 20 degree one of these would weigh?

Tim, these look amazing. A full pound off my current 40° Nemo Muse solution… can't wait.

While we're all pestering you with wishes, is an unzippable Revelation-style footbox for a fully flat square an option down the road? Would give these some replace-comforter-on-bed-at-home utility as well.

Any ballparks on pricing?

Tim,

Very Nice!

re: I know its not a light as others
Keep focusing on weight per function instead of simply weight and you'll continue to do well.

I have an idear for ya … PM on the way.

"Given the photo, I'd suggest "Final Answer."

Ahhh…. A married man.

I reworked the top closure system and it is finally all done. It went up yesterday. Pricing and weights on par with our single options compared to other double options out there.

Unless my math is wrong, it looks like the double quilt saves ~30% of the weight of bringing a second quilt, and more importantly, saves 85% of the cost of buying a second quilt! Is this special introductory pricing or ? An accomplice has about 70% of the material of a second quilt (nylon, down) but only costs 15% of buying a second quilt…though I suppose it would save labor cost (easier to handle one larger quilt than two separate ones).

For example, unless I'm comparing wrong things…but…

Enigma 40* 750 Regular/Regular
14.19 oz
$205

Accomplice 40* 750 Regular/Double
23.95 oz
$245

The only thing holding me back is my preferred 2 person tarp is a shangrila 2, so a double quilt is a no go…but, if I have 3 people I'm bringing my supermid, so 2 could sleep on one side….

John,

There is a small increase in labor and fabric costs but the extra down is the biggest added cost over a single quilt. Doing the labor in one shot vs double labor for two singles saves a lot off the price.

We don't see any reason to jack the cost just because we could.

And, its not quite clear in the pictures, but how does the top closure system work? Is it snapped or velcroed….or ?

John,

The top closure is similar to our single quilts in that each sleeper has a snap closure and adjustable drawcord to seal their opening. The center draft blocker drops between the sleepers and has the inside snap which mates with the outside snap on the respective corner. This allows each sleeper to adjust their opening without affecting draft for the other sleeper.

"We don't see any reason to jack the cost just because we could."

Just one of the many reasons why you and your company is awesome Tim.

It had been brought up that the cost of the Accomplice was low compared to the additional coverage. I then went into explaining why I'm so awesome that I don't charge more just because I could and yadda yadda yadda.

Turns out I'm just dumb:) I realized today that I'm only charging for half of the fabric cost on the Accomplice due to the way my spreadsheet was setup (worked great for single wide quilts). In NOV we will be re-listing the Accomplice with the correct prices (about $30-$50 more per quilt depending on model and size)

If you were considering one of these feel free to take advantage of my stupidity before I get it corrected in Nov.

Have a nice day.

Tim,

I ordered an accomplice from you a few weeks ago and used it for the first time this past weekend. My girlfriend said it is the single best backpacking item I have bought. She said to sell her sleeping bag because she's never using it again. For couples, you can not beat the accomplice. I compared it to other double quilts out there and it has the best design out of all them. I slept better with the double quilt then I have ever slept while backpacking. It really is awesome.

Anyone know of where I could see an Enlightened Equipment Accomplice in or around Northern Utah?  I think it might be just perfect for what we’re looking for.

Sorry… can’t suggest a place in Utah to see one.  My wife and I have enjoyed using the accomplice.  The one nit is that flap which lets you seal the quilt around each person’s neck is a slight bother. We sleep with our heads next to each other so it’s a flap that just sort of gets in the way.
