I have an exped Pillow Pump and Synmat UL7 and for the life of me, I can't figure out how the pillow pump is supposed to fit. Was there an old version of the pillow pump that doesn't fit the newer pads?

This should take care of it — as long as your Synmat is newer than 2010 (i.e., it must have a flat valve, not a Thermarest-type screw valve):
My pillow pump must be an old or specialized model. The connector is way too big to fit into the inflate valve on the Synmat.
Maybe you could do something like this :

that clear tube was stretched over the valve of another mat by immersing it in hot water and then leaving it there for a while.
The photo above does not illustrate how I use it , just how to go from one size to another.
For this exact set up I could just cut off the clear tube at the end of the black valve and insert it like that into the Exped pillow.
Thanks Franco. I found a piece of thick rubber tubing that exped included with the pillow that will fit into the pillow pump on one end and the mat on the other. I'm not sure how I missed it the first time around. Not the ideal setup, but it will work just fine.
