Thanks for the post. The 20% coupon fine prints states that it does not apply to sale items and stated specific brands. I just purchased my favorite montrail shoes on clearance sale for 50% off and the coupon applied to the sale price for an additional 20% off. With free shipping I couldn't ask for a sweeter deal. It may not work with all sale items, but it did on this particular clearance item.
The very first line on the homepage in large print:
"20% off Regular Price and Outlet Sale Prices"
Were your Montrail shoes in the outlet? I would think they were.

The shoes may have been in the Outlet. I did a search for the shoes from the home page. I didn't start at the Outlet.
