Has anyone used the Hoser 2l with the mini as an inline filter? Is it difficult o draw water through? I'm thinking of using this set up on the JMT. I know all the Smart Water bottles and the weight savings, however I just like the convenience of the bite valve.

That's how I use it. Except that instead of a hoser, I used an old big zip to make filling it up stream-side a little easier. I don't have any problems with sucking water through the mini. It may require a little more suction that a straight hose, but it hasn't been an issue for me.

I have a Mini and a 2L Hoser system. What I do it just keep the Hoser in my bag and then shove the output port of the Mini into the bite valve of the hoser and it fills right up, no problems. Not sure why more people don't do this.

Edit – I'll test it as an inline filter in a bit, then will report back here.

I use a big zip hoser for dirty water & connect the Sawyer inline between it and a regular hoser for filtered water.
This setup works in squeeze mode like the Sawyer bags or as a gravity filter when I hang the big zip from a branch.
