Buzz & I did the Royal Arch route with the Pt Huitzil start a couple of weeks ago. We spent 3 days, walking back to Hermit's Rest via the Tonto & Boucher trails. Amazing, big, remote country. Buzz's report is here:

That looks like the perfect time of year to hit tat place. Water does look good.
Nice but this time of year, got to watch the water especially going uphill.
Well, yes, we kind of messed up on water. It was thin out there this year. I do think that most of the side drainages had water somewhere if you were willing to walk up or down for a while – at least that's what we were told. But, nothing good from Toltec Beach to I think Serpentine except if you could find something in S. Bass (obviously you could go all the way to the river). I think by now (May) it's too hot to go there.
Nice trip report by Buzz.
As I write this, I resemble Swamp Thing as my skin peels off of my sunburned face. From what you could tell, did the Rangerette dress like that for cultural reasons or just a hard core attempt at protecting her skin from the sun?
Ha! We did not ask her religious affiliation, but I assume she was avoiding sun.
Trying to visualize that scene from the TR, I wasn't sure. After my massive sunblock failure, I may follow her example.
Really nice trip and report, thanks for sharing. Good to know you superhumans slow down to walk things once in a while too. The water situation sounds a little dicey… yikes!
I like how Buzz casually mentions the Fastpack prototypes :) What's a guy gotta do to get his hands on one of those?!? The 20L sounds very intriguing.
I don't know if you can get a UD Fastpack yet. As far as I know there are just a few protos in existence. I suppose you could ask Buzz… They should be available in August.
