I got a break from my workweek, and can get away to the Sierra TOMORROW. I'm driving from the Bay Area. Wed. and Thurs. (an overnight); or I can return very early Friday morning.
Somewhere that's a relatively short drive and that sticks to the 7000-9000 foot range in order to avoid having to bring snowshoes. I do have microspikes. I'm thinking Desolation, Emigrant, or maybe Carson Pass or Yosemite.
