We'll it's my fault. Havilland Lake campground north of Durango is full, I waited to long to make reservations.

Anybody know somewhere in the area that has good tent sites, shade, a view, maybe a river or lake to stick our feet in.

We're coming from North Texas so Durango or even Denver is about as far as we can drive. Somewhere where near a town accessible for my disinterested 16 year old daughter, showers nearby for my hair stylist wife, and a lake or river for
my other 15 and 6 year old girls that don't mind roughing it?

We enjoyed Havilland Lake cause we could take showers in the Durango Community Center.

I think it's gonna be to hot near Colorado Springs. Anything near Lake City or Creede?

And would like to see a good 4th of July fireworks show.

I know this isn't a typical request.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
Ridgeway State Park near Ridgway, Co or Amphitheatre Campground near Ouray Co. We stayed at both last summer. The state park has showers and at Amphitheatre we cleaned up at the local hot springs.
