Just sort of curious if anyone has ever experienced something like what's described here:

On Thursday night (while sitting at my desk at work), my foot starts to feel a little "off," sort of like it needs to be cracked like you'd crack our knuckles. Cut to two hours later and I can't stand up or move without an improvised crutch, and I can't bend my toes without wanting to scream. For all intents and purposes, I can't walk.

Friday morning/afternoon brings more of the same, but by the evening, my foot starts cracking with every step I take, and it starts to feel a little bit better. I keep it up, and it's back to 80% by Friday night.

By Saturday morning, I'm basically fine- there's some very minor discomfort, but nothing that would really keep me from hiking/walking/exercise, etc. (I decided to stay off it instead, for what I assume are obvious reasons.)

Has anyone ever had something like this? Obviously, I'm glad that it's basically gone away, but I'm more than a little disconcerted that I suddenly found myself completely unable to walk with no apparent cause. I think every BPL reader can appreciate that this could have been a lot more unpleasant/potentially dangerous if it had happened on trail, so I'm really keen on learning what happened, and why.

I should note that I've already been to my primary care doctor, and have an x-ray and podiatrist's appointment coming up soon. There wasn't really any immediate diagnosis, etc. (Not surprisingly, the doctor ruled out a few basic things and then referred me along.)
