Hi All,
I intend to join a friend of mine, currently walking the PCT, and walk with him from around Walker's pass all the way to Yosemite valley (with a side trip to Whitney).
I'm probably going to meet him towards the and of May and I've been inquiring about the necessary permit.
I found this 2-years old thread:
which suggests I only need a wilderness permit from Sequoia National Forest (as I intend to enter through the Golden Trout Wilderness), and this is supposed to cover me all the way to Yosemite.
However, the lady from Sequoia NP directed me to Sequoia National Forest office, and they told me they can issue me the Golden Trout Wilderness permit but it is only valid in their jurisdiction and that I have to deal with other forest authorities separately.
Does this make sense?
Thank you for any useful information.
