We did a 4-day, 110-mile hike from the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, following the Hayduke Trail south through Beef Basin and Fable Valley, and then down Young's Canyon into Dark Canyon. Then walked up Dark Canyon for 15 miles or so to exit via Trail Canyon, and walked some roads and some almost-roads to the head of Salt Creek, then down Salt and back to Needles via the wonderful Peekaboo Trail. Excellent route & extremely remote. Many modifications are possible.
