The Terra Nova Laser Photon looks intriguing: 740g / 1.63 lbs and £300 / $610. A little narrow for my taste, but it is pretty darn light and pretty darn expensive! Anyone planning on getting one? Would love to read a report on it. :)

I have seen these, and aside from the steep price, the other factor that would dissuade me from picking one up is that the company specifically commented that this tent was not designed for backpacking, but rather for bikers/races that wanted to carry an emergency shelter, which leads me to believe that it may not have been designed with durability utmost in mind. It does however give me hope that more super light tents may make their way to market
Good points! Not that I would spend $600, but if I did, it would be very heart breaking to see it rip!
Yes… but by "backpacking" I'm sure they mean the bombproof variety of backpacking. No ultralight gear is really designed for durability.
Damn… just bought the competition version…
Took them 6 months to deliver it from the UK to Switzerland (red colour got out of stock, and obviously there batchs run really small quantities).
Had I known they were introducing a new version, might have changed my plans!
