I am planning a trip to Arrow Peak in Colorado in late July. Starting at Elk Creek Trailhead. Hiking east about 3-4 miles to the Beaver Ponds for the first night.
Next day Hiking south into the Vestal Basin – camping
Next day – Summit Arrow Peak – return to camp
Next day Hike north out of Vestal Basin to Beaver Ponds at Elk Creek Trail and turn east to Eldorado Lake – camp
Next day – Hike east on Elk Creek Trail until it intersects with the Colorado Trail. Head north and hike the Continental Divide to Cunningham Gulch Trail to Silverton.
Any thoughts or advice? too little, too much for the time allotted? Any special sights or "must do's"? What about potential problems in this area?
It will be my first time to do more than 3 nights since I was much younger and it is my time at this altitude.
