Last weekend finally called for decent weather. So I took the family on a quick and easy first backpack of the season. We parked at the Ross Trail parking lot on Highway 20 and hiked down and over the Ross Dam and up lake to Greenpoint Campground. Total one way was about 3 miles, which was plenty to get my 6 year olds legs going to start the year. Beautiful weather, had the campground to ourselves. In fact, didn't see a soul all weekend with the exception of one boat buzzing by Saturday evening. The lake is down at least 50-60 feet from the summer lake level.

I hiked roughly 10 miles down Thunder Creek trail last year shortly before last year's big mud slide. Beautiful Park from what I could see and can't wait to go back.

I love Ross Lake, can't wait to land on a weather window and spend some time up there. Green Point is a great overnight spot, good choice!
Gorgeous area. Thank you for sharing the photos.
Dude, sweet trip!
