Did a little backpacking/travel trip including over the Golden Gate Bridge and area (via an unplanned departure from the Embacardo), then with a foot injury to Point Reyes via the Olema shuttle (and back) about a month or so ago. Since my foot could only take about a half day of hiking, I didn't feel like putting together a full trip report. I was able to backpack a few days in Point Reyes, … then throughout the Marin Headlands. It is usually so foggy my pics aren't this clear. Here they are …
Golden Gate bridge overlook shot

To Coast camp – normally this is a foggy gray descent:

Coffee at coast the next AM, lazy morning.

Coast camp. There were some surfers who backpacked in (using heavy packs, btw) setting up next to me but really did not feel like trying to photograph them. Overall most of the backpackers were younger and plenty of them due to the sun. Makes me feel the world is going to be alright..

I went the long way around from Coast to enjoy the beach, then up to Bayview for that rare view in the sun .. and the next pic. On the horizon, those are probably the Farallones Islands where a marine sanctuary is based to study the Great White in it's breeding grounds

Sky camp: I have stayed here to dry my gear on all my Point Reyes trips and this trip (though with more sun) was no exception. This time I had views galore:.

My travel Zimmerbuilt ZB2 and gear in the foreground… Again there were mostly younger yoga posing bike-packers and ukelele-playing backpackers,… women, couples, families and a smattering of middle age w/an elderly hiker with the most stripped down gear I've seen.
Golden Gate bridge. I stayed at the Marin Headlands hostel my last night north of the Bay to clean up and explore the old fortifications, beaches, etc..

Conclusion I enjoy the area but debating whether to bring a better camera next time (=more weight) or reduce my weight to make more miles. Might just depend on the water, rain, and fog situation. This trip may have been ideal for a better camera since there was no fog. Fog and precip would provide more water for more hiking options but fewer opportunities for pictures (and that fog can get into an iPhone's aftermarket shell from past experiences.
ADD Trail conditions were unusually dry with Marin residents telling me it was like summer in March. The rains did produce some flowing water further down each hill but you could tell it was sketchy.
