Are there any other rain jackets you guys recommend? I'm looking for something for summer use. I want to have rain pants and a jacket. It's going to mean more mileage when it's raining and better wind protection.
It also means that in the event my shelter fails (there's always the chance a branch could fall and rip my tarp) I will be safe during the night.
A buddy of mine had a large branch pierce his tarp during a rain storm. Wasn't super fun for him but he was able to get into his rain gear quickly enough to avoid getting soaked. Definitely better than hypothermia.
