I was surprised to know these existed, but they're well-recieved by Wired.com and Kickstarter:

5oz tyvek shoes that look like regular sneakers. Price is pretty high, but you get what you pay for. No affiliation or experience here, just passing along interest.

150 grams per size 11 shoe, which is over 5 ounces each. For a pair, over 10 ounces.

My New Balance Minimus MT20 V2s are 7.2 ounces each in size 13. They can trail run, work well as approach/cragging shoes, and deal with water and rivers very well.
I got my fourth and current pair for $24 on clearance.

"Nike once made road racing shoes from Tyvek, called the Mayfly"

They still do unless they just stopped. They weigh 4.7 oz according to Nike. I tried a pair on and they felt great. I have been thinking of carrying a pair on bike tours for a change from bike shoes when in camp, but don't see the need of a second pair of shoes for hiking trips.
