I find that I stink in most poly shirts or that they end up stinking. The only thing that I have found that is even good at keeping the stink away are some Soffe 50p/50c t-shirts. I was wondering if anyone has had any success with things such as the REI Power Dry T-shirts as found here http://www.rei.com/product/842728/rei-lightweight-polartec-power-dry-crew-shirt-mens#reviewsTab ? Or should I just go for some REALLY thin cotton ones or more of a mixture of 85p/15c?

Cotton is a step backwards and will leave you wet and won't dry fast enough. "Cotton kills" still holds.
I have Power Dry shirts in several weights and have not noticed a tendency to build up odors. I've had a couple TNF shirts that were terrible that way and polypropylene comes to mind as well.
The whole benefit to The lighter Power Dry is to have those wicking "cells" against your skin. I tend to wear the heavy weight version (R1) as a mid-layer but many wear it as a base layer.
I went to the Polartec web site and didn't find any specific claim of anti odor/bacterial additive. There are some base layer manufacturers who use silver compounds in their fabric to help control odors.
Some like wool for its anti-odor properties.
I don't like wool because the durable ones are thick and the thin ones aren't durable and neither is cheap. I used to use some old R .5s that were made out of Power dry and I noticed they didn't smell as much but I thought I would ask about the Ts. The silver compounds have to be about 7-8% for them to work like that on me and I don't think they make those anymore.
