In Southern California, what is "usually" the last campground that you camped the night before hitting Wrightwood? Name of the campground?
I live very close, and I'd like to set up either a water drop, or something more for the folks the night before they get into town, but not sure which campground they use. I have a feeling that water will be in short supply this year.
Any info would be appreciated.
I left McDonalds at 6:45am and hiked until about 0.5 miles before the Acorn Trail where I camped behind some trees. A lot of hikers use the Acorn trial into Wrightwood, but not all. I hiked to Inspiration point the next day and hitched into Wrightwood from there. That said, I know many hikers who talked about stopping at Guffy Campground having started that morning a few miles past the McDonalds.
Ok, that makes sense then.
I usually spend mornings at Inspiration Point when I can, during that time, to give hikers a lift into town. I just wasn't sure if Guffy was the place that they stayed the night before.
