My trusted old 3/4 length custom Kookabay sleeping pad developed a slow leak at the valve which I have been unable to fix. I just have to replace it. Trying to find a suitable replacement for the Kookabay led me to the following three pads:
1. Klymit Inertia X Wave (25 x 48 x 2.5 inches – 10.5 oz)
2. Gossamergear Air Beam Large (21 x 56 x 2.5 inches – 11.2 oz)
3. NeoAir XLite Small (20 x 47 x 2.5 inches – 8 oz)

Anyone care to share their experience about these sleeping pads please?

I should add that the width of the X Wave is a big plus to me. Both my NeoAir XTherm XL and Kookabay pads are 25 inches wide, which, as a side sleeper, I find very comfortable. The short length of the X Wave and XLite is some concern. They are considerably shorter than my Kookabay pad, which is 60". I am 6' 4" tall and I can't help to think that the taper on the thickness of these pads might reduce the thickness too much so that my hip will press on the ground. This ls the reason I picked the 56" length Air Beam, but then again I can't help to speculate if the 48" length model will be sufficient.

Thanks.

You might want to consider this pad as well. Slightly longer, and more insulated.

I use the Thermarest Prolite XSmall and love it. I kept getting smaller and smaller pads until settling on this one- warm and comfy enough at 8oz.

I'm a big fan of the Nemo Zor. It weighs 9.1oz on my scale, is 48" and provides an R-Value of around 2.0-2.5. No pad drop-off, still insulates and cushions if you puncture it, quiet and comfortable.

The ProLite Small and X-Small are other good options, but weigh a little more for the surface area.
