Looking for a lower elevation hike in the Sierras. I live in Santa Barbara so I was thinking somewhere in Seqoia National Park. I have heard it has been a very low snow year but have not been able to get a hold of anyone up at the park I was thinking a of doing a loop somewhere up by the High Sierra Trail in Seqoia. Any suggestions would be helpful. I don't have a lot of experieince in the snow and this is gonna be a solo trip. preferabbly between 3-5 days. Any suggestions on previous trips done or even trail heads would be helpful.

Best Regards

The High Sierra Trail starts at Crescent Meadow and goes east to Bearpaw Camp, then east over Kaweah Gap. The problem is that it is a popular trail, so getting a permit is the trick.

If you start out too early in the season, you may run into some snow anyway. So, consider south-facing slopes that will be bare of snow. The north-facing gullies may still be white and slippery.
