We’ve got 3 open spots for free WordPress powered trail blogs that we will be launching in the coming months … these slots will be grandfathered in when we launch, so they will stay free. This will give you the opportunity to have a nice trail blog and give us the opportunity to get feedback on what you like, don’t like and what features you would like in the future.
These sites are a great way to document a thru hike, daily life or even day hikes. I attempted to use some of the other solutions out there and found out they were really out of date and not so easy to use, which is why I think these might be a nice upgrade for some folks.
There’s iOS, Android and Blackberry apps so you can update your site from the field, pre-configured galleries, domain mapping (if you want to use a domain name you’ve purchased from a registrar like mydomain.com instead of alpinescience.com/yoursitename), customizable headers and more. We’ve configured all the plugins for you so when you upload images, they are optimized to maintain quality and help insure fast page loads.
