I removed the handles off of my pot but am wondering if there is a way to remove the rest of the handle assembly without damaging the pot. Besides the weight they catch on the cuben stuff sack when I pull it out. Any ideas?

I went to town on a Snowpeak Ti a few years ago with a Dremel tool and some elbow grease. It worked well aside from one of the welds popping completely out leaving a hole in the wall of the pot. I patched it with JB Weld and sanded down smooth so it looks good but consider that could happen to you too. Weight saving is minimal and I did it more so to make the item more my own than anything.
I recently did this exact thing to my snowpeak 1400. Worked beautifully. You take a dremel tool with a cutting disk and cut a square around each weld, being very careful to only cut through the bracket and not start cutting into the pot. Then take some needle nose plier and tear the bracket away from the welds. Next take a sanding bit for the dremel and sand down the high spots left by the spot welds and you're done.
Thank you Travis and Sam. It worked. I cut out little squares and then sanded them down. I over cut a little bit on some of the squares but hopefully not enough to weaken the pot too much. We will see how it works over time. I went into this project aware that I might be making a $40.00 mistake. Luckily it seems to have worked.

James, it turned out great. Every time you use it from here on out you'll get just a bit more joy out of it knowing you made it your own!
