Weighs 2.1 ounces, full zip, with a hood. Anyone have experience with it?

It is light, but not very breathable with <10CFM fabric. most of the current sub 3oz windshirts are low on breathability. No free lunch (yet).

Thanks for the links, link. No idea why but the search feature on BPL is absolutely useless. I tried looking for relevant threads but didn't come up with any.

Based upon people's reports, I suspect that "< 10 CFM" actually means very much less than 10 CFM… like 1 or 2 CFM.

I agree. I gleaned the <10CFM from a comment Richard Nisley made regarding the fabric in the Ghost Whisperer being the same as used in another down garment and noting that any down proof fabric is <10CFM. Most of the Pertex variants are 2CFM, which is abysmal for active use. It seems that the state of the market for breathable windshirts with much heavier options. Find a pre-2013 Houdini.

If you are going to wear the windshirt while active, you want good breathability. If it is just for rest and camp, you might as well use your rain shell.

There have been a couple other threads kicking the breathable windshirt horse to long ends :)

I used it extensively. Two bike tours, daily runs and bike rides for training, and casually on trips to the city etc.

I liked it, I had no durability issues. I had no breathability issues, because the deep neck zip was perfect for venting. I used it year-round.

I stopped using it because the sleeves were too short and the back would ride up. it wasn't very well cut for me (and I can't imagine a lot of people it would fit perfectly. Short-armed people?)

Thanks for the replies. Max, thanks for the real world feedback. I appreciate actual usage reports more than numbers. :). Regardless, looks like I'll stick with my ugly yellow stoic wraith till it has holes in it.

Makes a great emergency wind shirt for running. While I agree with the others that it doesn't breathe well, none of the other jackets they recommend pack down as small and weigh as little as this. For me those are important characteristics because they allow me to fit it in a pocket on my running shorts.

If I know the conditions are such that I'll be wearing a jacket while moving a lot, then I choose something more breathable and comfortable and adjust my gear as necessary to accommodate the bulkier jacket. Sometimes that means tying it around my waist. But for those days where the weather seems to indicate that I won't need a jacket, I like to use the ghost whisperer so I can travel with as little bulk as possible. I always bring a jacket if my run includes above tree line sections or great distances from roads.
