I use a short ridgerest solite r-2.5 that weighs 8.7oz.

Considering adding a the full length Klymit xframe or xlite 9.1 or 6.1 ounces.

Or another alternative maybe a new product that's state of the art?

During these non summer trips I need/want something to boost warmth and comfort. I'm not a huge fan of the high cost of lightweight high r value pads such as Exped UL7 and Neoair xlite. I don't like blowing them up either and the durability of the klymits is proven. I'm intrigued with the loft pockets, seems like they would work well with my Zpacks quilt. Should I put the klymit inside my bag or just on top of my ccf? Either way it would come down to preference I guess.

I have a 1/8th ccf pad as well but the ridgerest is much more substantial for about 5oz more.

My question is about possibly combining my 8.7oz ccf + 9.1oz Klymit.

= 17.9oz

Summer I could use the 1/8th ccf = 13.9

I had a Klymit xwave for a few months, it was okay but I don't like having a short ccf plus a short inflatable. My knees would drop off would twist my back and get chilled. So I guess I am set on the full length 9.1oz xframe.

Do I have bats in the belfry? I want a little "boost" in warmth and comfort but what are other people using, a 14oz neoair xlite?klymit ccf foam

I do something similar- I have a Big Agnes Q-Core SL that I top with a z-rest. Air pads, for me, just feel cold even when they claim to be insulated. The z-rest provides the warmth, the Q-Core SL provides the comfort. It's bulkier but it makes my nights a lot more comfortable.

I've started using the X-Lite Recon in summer with my pack under my feet, and plan to try it with a quilt soon in combination with a Thermarest Z Lite small(and pack under the feet).
The only issues I think I'll have with that setup is that I'm spoiled by the small packed size of inflatables, plus wander off-trail a lot, so hauling the Z Lite outside the pack can be a pain. When you add them together, it really doesn't save much(if any) weight vs. an inflatable, either.
I like the idea of the CCF pad removing the chance of an irreparable leak leaving you without bottom insulation, though.

I ordered a used xframe from a forum menber for $40.

Im pretty excited and it should add a lot more squishyness when sleeping.
