I wonder how many of us I speak for when I say that Under Armour Heat Gear underwear is WAY better than my Ex Officios. I had the EO's for my hikes until I came across the UA which are way softer and better, and similar in all other respects.

So now I get a mailing- you prob got it too-about the new Sport Mesh EO. The nine inch length is $35. They look great but I can get the UA's for much less- two for that price, though it is the shorter length.

If anybody splurges for them can you fill us in?

But I gotta say I'm loving both Icebreaker and Ibex merino. I always liked the Ex Officio briefs, but these are better. Just my 2ยข…

Icebreaker is nice but doesn't last that long, maybe a few years. I will look at the Target ones, thanks for the suggestion. I would look at Under Armor but I have had some of their stuf before and it always ends up stinking.

I like the new sport mesh EO. Light, comfortable, seems pretty breathable and quick drying. My favorite thing about them, though, is that they're cut tightly across the butt, which limits crack creep. That's one of the reasons I stopped wearing Icebreaker and Smartwool boxers, within an hour of hiking I was wearing a wool thong. Doesn't seem to happen with these, though I haven't had them out on a proper hike yet, have just worn them for a few days to work and such.
