I know this really isn't the right season, but has anyone used this, I may pop down to West Hartford to check them out first hand, but I was thinking, that maybe this could be a real no brainer solution to summer insulation. Its 9.5 ounces and pretty compressible, not as compressible as a synth or down vest, but I think it would help with camp technique, allowing a controlled way to dissipate moisture before climbing into your precious down bag.

I'm not 100% up with the VB idea, but, if I'm using it as the role of sealing in heat after hiking and preventing the "flash off" effect, could this be a brilliant idea or sheer stupidity?

I can’t imagine using a VB in above freezing weather. You want maximum breathability in the summer. You done need to protect your down bag VB when it’s able freezing… because the moisture can escape rather than freeze in the down bag. I would encourage you to read more. I have a few links on

Recommended Clothing, Vapor Barriers page.
