I have a Cocoon Pro 90 quilt and am very satisfied with its construction. I do wonder why a string was used to close the middle of the quilt instead of a strap (like the Nunatak quilts and the Arc X). I know weight is a major concern, but a strap would be MUCH, MUCH easier to use and make the quilt more versatile. Thanks for your great products.

I don't work for BPL…. But you could sew one in if you really wanted to, and have a watch clip like the one all the way on the bottom of here : http://www.seattlefabrics.com/side.html
Whether to use grosgrain or nylon webbing I don't know what Nunatak uses, but combine it with the BMW quilt and you'll get what you really need.
That`s what I plan to do. I will use the quilt more as a blanket than a bag for most of the camping I do so a strap makes more sense- even if it costs a few oz`s of weight. Thanks
Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd extend this one. The following question was asked and never answered in the Cocoon PrePurchase thread:
>>Ryan, you had mentioned that the Pro90 or UL180 can be used as overquilts. I was interested in using the Pro 90 over a WM Highlite. Would this work or would the down footbox loft of the WM be compressed too much under the overquilt? Thanks for your help!<<
Do these in fact work as an overbag with, for example, a Montbell #3? Does anyone have dimensions on this quilt including the footbox? Thanks in advance.
I have the 180, and I don't think I would use it as an overquilt. While fairly roomy, the footbox doesn't seem to be roomy enough to be used as an overquilt without compressing the insulation of the bag you would be layering it over. When I tried putting it over a JRB Shenandoah I noticed that the insulation in the JRB quilt was compressed. I spoke with BPL customer service and found out that both the 60 and the 90 are cut wider with the intent of being used as an overquilt.
Overall, I really like the 180. I do wish it was just a bit wider on the sides, and I completely agree with adding a strap instead of the string! I took the string off after my first night and am now using a piece of shockcord and mitten hooks in its place.
