Dress Socks – other than footwear, what’s your Multi Use Gear function?

In some terrains, I continually get pebbles or bits of plant matter in my shoes.

Takee a dress sock, cut two holes on either side of the toe, making essentially a stirrup. Put it on, putting your foot through one hole, put on shoe, pull stirrup part under arch of foot. It trashes the sock, but hey, they're dress socks.

I'm assuming you've got a pair of socks that have worn out while you're on the trail.

Hip-belt padding
Shoulder strap padding
Cup or pot cozy

protection against poison ivy

toss a couple stones in your dirty sock and toss it over a tree limb…
