The last piece of my 3-season UL gear puzzle is my rain pants. I am researching all the ususal places, but would like feedback on the lightest pair currently available.
I have tried Montbell 1/4 zip RainTrekkers, but they are water resistant to a lower hydrostatic head (HH) than I need. My simple test of HH is to sit in a puddle. If the contact pressure overwhelms the water-resistance, the pants fail; and they did.
My winter full-zip pants are from North Face and use HyVent. They passed the test; but I still need slip on 1/4 zip pants.
I found a few choices..
– Sierra Designs Isotope Pant, 4.8oz and not available?
– Golite Reed, 6oz
– Many others all at about 10+ ounces.
I'll decide in a few days. Thanks in advance..
