Ok, I'll admit I am not SUL and am barely UL with a base weight that makes me proud when I get it under 23#. However the big reason for this is that I usually take my three kids age 9, 7 and 5 with me and that adds 3 pads and 3 bags and other kids stuff to my load. Each kid carries their own pack with PJ's, change of clothes, water bottle and some snacks, but I do shoulder the majority of the load for them so they will still love going out. I go with my friend and watch his 14 yr old son load in and out himself in a very jealous fashion but I digress.
I currently use a GSI dualist and microdualist, which I am sure is not popular on this forum due to its weight. However, if anyone here is familiar with the nesting cup/bowl combo…they are spectacular! Short and wide, neoprene sleeve so fingers don't get hot, lid so they don't spill. I don't think there is a better light kid friendly option out there and if there is, please speak up. And inside 2 pots I get 4 bowls and 4 cups and 2 lids. The way they nest we can fit a canister, pocket rocket, and my bushbuddy backup woodstove easily inside them. The heavier weight of the pot has been worth it for me since I like the cups and bowls so much.
I recently got a caldera cone for the dualist and was disappointed that they don't make the fusion (the split version that fits inside the pot) for either GSI pot mainly because no one every buys them.
I was looking around for a lighter pot, but don't want to get rid of the cups and bowls. Does anyone know of a light Ti pot that fits these cups/bowls inside? In a perfect world I could lighten my pot, AND get a fusion so it would all fit inside…
If this fictional pot doesn't exist, does anyone know of better kid friendly dishware?
Thanks!
