@Dale- Those are the alpina red tails, an inexpensive do-all backcountry ski. The dimensions are 68 / 60 / 65 mm, so not too fat.

@Greg- I do use an IR remote, but the range is maybe 30 feet tops. That picture involved a 10 second delay and probably a 100 yard dash over icy rock towards a cliff face, repeated several times. It's one of my favorites :)

Love the picture of you skipping across the ice plates. Looks like a cold swim waiting to happen. What is the story behind that picture?

Thanks for putting the Lake superior region on the map as a legitimate destination, regardless of season. Look me up on your next adventure.
