I bought this shelter for less than $90 on STP a few months ago, looking for a somewhat of a budget roomy 2 person shelter when I camp / backpack with my wife. Nemo markets it as a 3 person shelter, thought I think it might even work as a cramped 4 person one. It's well constructed though and made of mostly 30D PU coated nylon, with reinforced tieouts and reinforced peak for a trekking / tent pole.

When I bought Transform tarp, I knew it was going to be somewhat heavy at almost 3 lbs. However, I didn't need the extra panel to turn it into 12×12 tarp. I was only gonna use it in it's mid mode. So I took the scissors to it. I removed that panel, and I removed some extraneous toggles and other items. I was able to get the shelter down to 28.5 oz on my scale. :-)
Here is a picture of a fast and sloppy pitch of it in my backyard. I used my Black Diamond syncline pole for the pitch.

And here it is with my Seek Outside 2 person nest I purchased later. It fits inside the shelter quite well. Of course, I would put the nest on the wrong side for this pitch. :-/

I'm really pleased with it so far, and man is it roomy in there. I'm thinking about taking on trips with some of my buddies who only have heavy tents to share the shelter with them and lighten their load. Also, it's worth mentioning that I don't use the 6" stakes that come with. I think they are kind of crappy for such a large shelter. I use my Easton 8.5" stakes. Anyway, I thought some of you guys would get a kick out of this. I've been meaning to post it here for a while.

Nice find, Benjamin!

Btw, where are you in AR? I grew up in Fort Smith.

Thanks, Steven! Born and raised in NLR. It's nice to find fellow Arkies on this forum. There are a few of us here. :-)

I also forgot to mention that this shelter comes already seam-taped, which is a huge plus for me.

Looks great. At 28 oz. and slightly – more than slightly – larger than a Duomid, this looks like a palace of a score. I also kind of like the ventilation and privacy as well as vestibule apace you get from the sideways near set up. Look forward to hearing how it works out for you.

Thanks, Brian.
Honestly, even more weight could be trimmed. I was examining it the other day, and I noticed that the zipper is one of those big teeth heavy duty zippers. It could be replaced with a lighter duty one like the one used on my SMD shelter. In addition to that, it has Velcro to hold the door flap over the zipper. If I thought the Velcro would hold the door shut, I would just remove the zipper altogether, but I don't think that's a good idea. Plus it's already at a respectable weight.
