Anyone used it? Anyone know of an equivalent with a hood? Requirements: full zip and heavier nylon… I think the lowest I'd go is 20d ballistic (which is why the Highland's 40d is appealing).

I'm trying to find the perfect option from down to 30F, low activity. I figure a 2 or 3oz down jacket with a 100wt aircore fleece is going to be the lightest and most versatile option? I wish I could just go with a warm down jacket but if it's warm enough for 30F static then it's probably too hot for 55-40 even unzipped. Any tips?

Check out the Uniqlo ultralight down hoodies. Only $70, too. They get pretty favorable reviews around here. Really good for the price and probably good down to the temps you listed.

Thanks for the tip And E– I forgot to mention I'm avoiding really light fabric like their stuff. Edited my original post to reflect that.
