I went by a Sears store today to get a a hands on with some of the Lands End fleece tops they have on sale. I picked up a crew neck top for $12 and it weighs a paltry 7.8oz in a mens large.

This will make a good summer mid layer teamed up with a windshirt.

They have a nice 1/2 zip top for $17, but I went for the utter simplicty and lower weight of the crew neck v

They have all kinds of tops, 200w jacket, gloves and beanies at steep discounts.

The only fleece I'll wear is the very light stuff. This is the weight range I like, around 7 oz, so I'll hump it down to Sears and have a look. Thanks for the heads up.

Half zips are nice, IF you can find one that doesn't bury the zipper in your sternum, which seems to be my problem.

I've got enough fleece with front zips and gee gaws. Just putting the two fleeces side by side sold me on the simplicty and weight of the crew neck, not to mention being 30% less.

This thing is kind of like a space blanket: dirt cheap and you can stuff it your day pack for a summer hike, knowing that you have a bit of water-hating insulation to wear under your wind or rain shell. I typically take a vest, but this long sleeve top is announce lighter than a Power Stretch vest. An R1 vest is a full 8oz.

It's just light fluffy fleece. It probably won't have the wear of denser varieties and it needs a shell for real warmth. Feels great. I would launder it carefully–dryers will eat fleece like this.

They have some gloves made from Aircore. I don't think they will last. Okay if you don't use poles. I like the beanies.

I love the landend aircore fleece, been using it this last year.
I wish they made aircore fleece pants.

Hi,
Dale what's the cut like on your Mens Large LE aircore fleece. I take medium in
most things and heard LE stuff tends to be on the bigger side of sizing (eg. size down).

Thanks!
Regards

My impression is a little short and a little boxy. Not an athletic cut. I could post some measurements later.

Velimir, after the first laundering, my crew neck size large measures 25" across the armpits, 24" across at the hem, 27" from the top of the collar in back to the tail and 37" from the center of the collar to the cuff.
