She'll remember that trip forever.
Ah, Craig. Your stories show that you're not ambling through life, you're dancing through it with a wide smile and a thoughtful embrace of humanness.
Good on ya, mate.
Great blog entry. Thank you for sharing.
It doesn't get much better than that! A grand memory for you both!
Oh, and very nice color coordination there!!!
A lucky daughter and thoughtful father. Thanks for your story and photos.
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I used to take my daughter out camping, hunting and riding our horses with our .22 Marlin, she still talks about those days and she's 32 now and an Engineer. You will treasure these times, they grow up so fast.
"This is not regret or some sort of lament, it is a simple reality that every parent understands."
As a young parent, I think this is the thing it took me longest to get. That the best of days would be complicated by whining or tears, often in proportion to the fun that was had. Once I figured that out, I think I became a better parent.
Thanks for the great post, as always.
Thanks for sharing. Enjoyable read!
Great perspectives, Craig and Ike. I feel lucky if the whine to shine proportion is anywhere close to 50/50 when I take my six year old out on short hikes and snowshoe trips. Yet if we reach the modest goals I set for the trip, he's so proud of his accomplishment and talks about it for weeks.
Fantastic trip report (as always). Not sure who's more fortunate, you or her! Here's to many more!
There is much to like about this story. Great pics too. Thank you for sharing.
As a parent of adult children I sometimes long for those days of the past but having spent many great adventures with them I can look back without regret.
Cheers
Another great trip report Craig!
