Thank you. A T2 Zip Hoody is on the way. My first one is getting thin.

For USA customers the shipping is 31% of the total, but the sale makes it easier to accept.

Hi Greg,

no worries! It would be a shame not to mention sales up here:).
Good to hear you like yours T2..that stuff is amazing&amazingly thin from the start
but it actualy works. I baby mine not to wear it out to fast:)

With all three being on sale is there any point of not getting the hoodie again?
Sometime I wonder..like going for a run I already take Buff and Merino hat why
bother with hood..Can you run with a hood on?
I know it's a no brainer question for hiking outfit but for running I think hoodless version might work even better?

Yeah shipping from Canada sucks even more so to EU (50CAD)..ouch!

Cheers

I'm glad I held off buying the vega, now I can order them all at the same time. My wallet is not. Luckily for me I got family in canada and family visiting them in january, so I don't to pay shipping – I don't even want to think about customs tax.

the price may drop more in a month and a bit … it depends how fast they sell out the clearance items

remember that MEC doesnt do sales, only clearances … so theyll keep lowering the price if it doesnt clear

you do of course have 30 days price protection …

and if you wait you may of course get some funkay colour

;)

How do these compare to Patagonia capilene sizing? I tried on a Large at the Patagonia store last week and it fit perfectly. These are a way better deal.

whats yr height and weight?

and are you big chested or big bellied ;)

the sizing is a bit tighter than the previous gen cap 4 … no idea on the current patagucci stuff

its roughly the same as the dead bird phase layers in terms of sizing … perhaps a tad slimmer fitting

;)

Nice deal. I got 3 different T2 items for myself and wife, for a total shipped the same price as 1 Cap 4

any reports on how much a t2 hoodie ends up costing after shipping and the 5$ member fee?

PostedDec 28, 2013 at 12:01 pm

For some weird reason I can't add the T2 hoodie to my cart, it always comes out as the bullfrog green hoodie for $25 and oos.

I got the size Large long sleeve no hood. I'm 5-11 185 and it fits perfectly. It is kind of long, like the r1 hoodie. I can fit a thin baselayer under it. Excellent overall garment.

Planning to hike JMT in June this year, can I use these as baselayer during the hike and/or to sleep ?

PostedJan 14, 2014 at 11:21 am

Yes, these make excellent baselayers, but personally i would only use it for cooler temps as active wear. I don't anything about the JMT, what are the average temps in June there?

I would roast wearing micro grid fleece above 55 degrees (but i run warm), unless there was a lot of wind constantly. Would be a nice backup mid/thermal layer, especially in combo with a windjackect of some kind.

June temp is about lowest 30s to 60s. I'm planning to order T2 with hood as hike in shirt and T3 hoodless as baselayer to sleep in/or downtime in camp.

No. You are going to roast wearing one of things in the Sierras during summer.

For me about 60F for the T2 while active and having it unzipped with nothing else on before I start sweating. At 75 I am sweating alot in it. (I have the T2 hodded zip tee). I tried it as a do everything layer one summer at 80F and I was roasting although it did not turn out that bad as if you like hiking shirtless it is a good option as when you start to overheat you just take it off. I have a sub 4 oz running shirt that I usually use now in addition to the T2 for warm weather and use the T2 to sleep in and hike in the mornings.

For the Vega about 30 F while active is a warm as I would go and can go down to about 5F. Above zero and I really need to start venting. At these temps I am much more concerned with getting wet so I avoid the Vega above 0 for active use. The vega is also a great layer for things like belaying or climbing depending on temps. Also is great for just around town in around or above freezing weather. It is probably my favourite piece of outdoor gear. Its only drawback is the lack of thumb loops. The T2 and T3 have ThumbLoops.

Hi,
I have both T2 and T3 hoody and only latter does have thumbloops.

Cheers!

I bit my fingers and picked up 2 T2 and one T3. I've heard about MEC but never own anything from them. I'm planning to use T2 hood for hiking in the morning and T3 as base layer for sleeping or downtime around camp. I'll be doing JMT this June and temperature can get really low at high elevation. Thanks OP for awesome deal.

In my opinion these run quite small. Almost Montbell Small. I got a "small" size, after their customer service rep told me if anything people complain about their clothes being big. I was quite excited until the tiny thing arrived. Anyway, I'm a small in arc-teryx and a medium in patagonia and most everything else. I explained this to them and carefully reviewed the sizing chart. Once you pay their exorbitant shipping costs, though, it's free to return/exchange. Thought someone might find this helpful so …

Great looking shirt by the way. Really looking forward to a couple of weeks from now when I get one that fits.

they definitely run somewhat slim the T2/T3 … the vega is sized bigger

i wear small-med in dead bird phase and the old patagucci cap4 … and im medium in the T2/T3

the best solution is to take a trip to canuckistan, sample our maple syrup, pet our friendly bears, and go to a MEC

;)

I'm 5'10" and an efficient 160 pounds. I own both the MEC T2 and Vega in Medium. I'd say that the fit is different put ideal for me for each garment. The T2 is slim cut but long which seems ideal for an active base layer. The Vega is also long, but a looser (not baggie) fit. This works for my midlayer/lounging use of the Vega. Of course, your milage and preferences may vary.

Tried buying the T3 hoodie, butkeeps saying "cannot ship item outside of Canada", tried a few different items as a test, and it is apparently saying that on all clearance items, anyone else having this problem?
